Dorset Council

Educating your child at home is called home education or elective home education (EHE), or home schooling. The council provide lots of information on your rights and responsibilities and the decision to home educate.

Local home education groups

Home Educators Yeovil

Home Educators Yeovil (HEY) was started in March 2009 by a few families who wanted to meet up with other home educators in their local area.

Bridport Home Educators

The Bridport Group has been running for 3 years and meet every Wednesday 10am to 12.30pm during term time.  They welcome children and their parents/carers along to meet other Home educators and get involved in some educational activities.

Education Everywhere

Provides access to content, tools and resources for home education.

Education Otherwise is a leading charity across England and Wales that promotes and supports the right of a parent or guardian to home educate their child should they wish to do so.

Dorset Council

There is a huge number of resources available – some free some cost.  The Dorset Council website lists many of these as well as information about home tutors and Examining Boards.
