Cruse Bereavement Support

National organisation offering a telephone helpline, grief counselling (waiting time of a few months), and extensive online resources.

Steps to Wellbeing

Offers a range of mental health counselling and support, including bereavement counselling. Runs a 6-week bereavement course to help you come to terms with grief.

Dorset Recovery Education Centre

Offers short courses and webinars including “Understanding Grief”. Courses run termly and fill up fast. Registration is required.

Bridport Bereavement Support Group – Greenfields Bungalow

4th Monday of each month, 2.30pm – 4.00pm at Greenfields Bungalow, Bridport Hospital car park. Drop-in basis.

Beaminster Bereavement Support Group

First Monday of every month (except Bank Holidays), 2.00pm – 3.30pm at St Mary's, Beaminster.

Axminster – Bereavement Drop-in

Last Thursday of every month, 2.00pm – 4.00pm at The Community Waffle House, Trinity House, Trinity Square, Axminster, DT13 5AP. No cost, no booking required. Run by Hospice Care.

Crewkerne – Peer Support for Loss and Bereavement Group

First Thursday of the month, 11.00am – 12.30pm at The Henhayes Centre, South St Car Park, Crewkerne, TA18 8DA.

Dorset Open Door

Supports people bereaved or affected by a death where the cause may be suicide or be particularly traumatic or sudden. Partnership of local/national bereavement charities and healthcare organisations.
