Dorset County Community Learning Disability Service

Social care and healthcare staff, who work to help adults with a learning disability. They work with adults who have learning disabilities, young people leaving school or college, parents who have learning disabilities and everyone who helps people with learning disabilities.

 

Health Check

Anyone aged 14 and over who is on their doctors learning disability register can have a free annual health check once a year. 

 

Benefit Advice

Benefit Advice have some useful information regarding benefit advice and general information surrounding learning disabilities. 

 

People First Dorset

People First Dorset a user led charity, run and led by people with learning disabilities with support as needed. Additional projects and workshops.    

 

Dorset Abilities Group (DAG)

Dorset Abilities Group (DAG) are an independent day service for adults with disabilities and additional needs.  

 

Dorchester Training & Employment Opportunities

Employ My Ability training, internship and employment opportunities for young people aged 16-25 specifically catered for those with learning disabilities. Employ My Ability also have a separate section for Adult Social Care with day opportunities, supported living and outreach support

 

Bridport MenCap

Bridport MenCap offer volunteer placements to encourage social interaction and work like experience, activity clubs and grants.
